MISSION OF THE MONTH

As One Ministry

OCTOBER “ONE THING”

Our October “One Thing” is stove top stuffing for the Mitchell Area Food Pantry Thanksgiving Baskets. Our goal is to provide them with 600 boxes of stuffing.

NOVEMBER “ONE THING”

Our November “One Thing” will be mashed potatoes for the Salvation Army Christmas Food Baskets. Our goal is to provide 250 bags or boxes of instant mashed potatoes.

2026 KINDNESS CAMPAIGN T-SHIRT

As our nation heads towards elections in a month, our church is once again participating in the National Kindness Campaign. This year’s T-shirt has the simple message of “Let’s Love One Another” on it. Our church name and logo appear on the back of the shirt. This shirt design fits in so well with our own Sunday School Theme; “GOAL” – Go Out And Love. If you ordered one, they will be in the gathering area on Sunday with your name on it. There are a few shirts available for purchase, contact the church office if you would like one. We will be encouraged to wear them to church on Sunday, November 1st.

CHRISTMAS SHOE BOXES

If you haven’t returned your shoe boxes yet, please return them to the church office. They need to be turned into the Conference office by November 1st. Thank you to all that took a tag and shopped for a child. Your generosity is appreciated!

 ALL SAINTS SUNDAY

Join us on Sunday, November 1st, for All Saints Sunday as we remember and honor those from our church family and community who have passed in the past year- those whose memorial, graveside, or funeral services our pastors have led. We hope to see you on November 1st.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY

Beginning next week, we will be looking at some one-time studies each week- about Creation, God’s Love, Faith and Prayer. We will have some craft activities to go with each week beginning October 28th through November 18th.  For more details, reach out to Natalie.

SAVE THE DATE

On Sunday November 15th at 6:30 PM we will have our church conference here at the church. More information to come. All are welcome.

LOVE FEAST ANOUNCEMENTS

Love Feast is currently accepting County Fair stamps so they can purchase turkeys for the Christmas meal. Please drop stamps off at the church office.

LIFE QUEST SPECIAL APPRECIATION PROJECT

Let’s show our support for our Life Quest friends as they spread appreciation throughout our community! Life Quest is collecting baked goods to share with teachers and support staff at the local schools, including Avera Brady, Edgewood, and Rosewood. They are also collecting 12 oz. Gatorade bottles to deliver to our Police Department, Fire Department, and Sheriff’s Office. They are looking for 20 dozen baked goods and 12 oz. Gatorade bottles. If you would like to help them, please bring all donations to FUMC by noon on November 3rd. Thank you for helping us support Life Quest.

TRICK OR TREATING AT WESLEY ACRES

Join us for a spooktacular Trick or Treat Event at Wesley Acres on Saturday, October 31st 3-4pm. 1115 W. Havens Ave. Come dressed in costume and enjoy candy and treats. Bring your friends, family, and Halloween Spirit- it’s going to be a frightfully good time!

LITTLE FREE FOOD PANTRY

We continue to collect non-perishable food items to help keep our Little Free Food Pantry stocked and available to those in need. Donations may be brought to the church office. Thank you for helping us share God’s love with our community!

VERSE FOR REFLECTION: Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

CALL TO WORSHIP:

L: We gather today believing that God is still at work among us!

P: We come ready to see what God can do through us.

L: When a man could not reach Jesus on his own, his friends

     carried him.

P: Together, they found a way when the way seemed impossible.

L: When obstacles stood in their path, they refused to give up hope.

P: Give us faith to work together, to lift one another up, and to

     make room for miracles.

L: Today, we celebrate the miracles God has done and the

     possibilities God places before us.

P: With open hearts, willing hands, and faith in Jesus, we are

ready to be part of God’s work!
