Keith Nelson

Lead Pastor

Keith is the Lead Pastor of Downtown Mitchell First UMC. He is originally from down the Interstate a ways just north of White Lake. He completed his M.Div. at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago and has served the United Methodist church as an ordained elder for 30 years as a chaplain, pastor, and district superintendent.

Keith joined Downtown First in 2016, and it has grown dramatically since. He enjoys reading, running, and playing with the family dog Sophie.

He lives with his wife Nancy and together they share two adult children, Richie and Melissa.
