MISSION OF THE MONTH
As One Ministry
OCTOBER “ONE THING”
Our October “One Thing” is stove top stuffing for the Mitchell Area Food Pantry Thanksgiving Baskets. Our goal is to provide them with 600 boxes of stuffing.
2026 KINDNESS CAMPAIGN T-SHIRT
As our nation heads towards elections in a month, our church is once again participating in the National Kindness Campaign. This year’s T-shirt has the simple message of “Let’s Love One Another” on it. Our church name and logo appear on the back of the shirt. This shirt design fits in so well with our own Sunday School Theme; “GOAL” – Go Out And Love. There will be a few shirts available for purchase, contact the church office if you would like one. We will be encouraged to wear them to church on Sunday, November 1st.
CHRISTMAS SHOE BOXES
The tree is up, the lights are twinkling, and the boxes are ready to go. Please take one or more tags from the tree, grab your box/es, take an instruction sheet and go shopping. Please have them filled and turn them in to the church office by October 25th. Thank you for making a child's Christmas brighter.
ALL SAINTS SUNDAY
Join us on Sunday, November 1st, for All Saints Sunday as we remember and honor those from our church family and community who have passed in the past year- those whose memorial, graveside, or funeral services our pastors have led. We hope to see you on November 1st.
SPIRITUAL GIFTS INVENTORY
As we dig deeper into what Spiritual Gifts are in the current sermon series, please be sure to take the spiritual gifts inventory to discover what your gifts are. There is a QR code available with your smart phone to connect with the inventory. Or via your computer: https://www.umcdiscipleship.org/spiritual-gifts-inventory/en.
Paper versions of the inventory are available in the gathering area or in the church office. Once you know your top 5 spiritual gifts, please share them with the church office. Our desire is to help people serve in areas of their giftedness.
LOVEFEAST ANOUNCEMENTS
Love Feast has been chosen to receive 10% of sales from Gliks on Thursday, October 22nd. The task force would appreciate your support. Love Feast is currently accepting County Fair stamps so we can purchase turkeys for the Christmas meal. Please drop stamps off at the church office.
LIFE QUEST SPECIAL APPRECIATION PROJECT
Let’s show our support for our Life Quest friends as they spread appreciation throughout our community! Life Quest is collecting baked goods to share with teachers and support staff at the local schools, including Avera Brady, Edgewood, and Rosewood. They are also collecting 12 oz. Gatorade bottles to deliver to our Police Department, Fire Department, and Sheriff’s Office. They are looking for 20 dozen baked goods and 12 oz. Gatorade bottles. If you would like to help them-please bring all donations to First United Methodist Church by noon on November 3rd. Thank you for helping us support Life Quest and their wonderful mission of showing appreciation to those who serve our community!
LITTLE FREE FOOD PANTRY
We continue to collect non-perishable food items to help keep our Little Free Food Pantry stocked and available to those in need. Donations may be brought to the church office. Thank you for helping us share God’s love with our community!

GREETING:
CALL TO WORSHIP:
L: Sometimes we look at the needs around us and wonder if we have
enough.
P: Our gifts seem small, and our resources seem limited.
L: A few loaves and fish seemed like very little for such a hungry
crowd.
P: But Jesus took what was offered and made it more than
enough.
L: God has given each of us gifts, not to keep for ourselves, but to
share with others.
P: We bring what we have and place it in God’s hands.
L: Miracle of Miracles, in God’s hands little becomes much.
P: God of abundance, take our little and turn it into much.
L: Come, let us worship the God of abundance!
ALL: May our gifts become blessings, our service become love,
and our lives become offerings to God. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
