WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY
Please join us next Sunday, October 4th for World Communion Sunday. It is a day that we celebrate our oneness in Christ with all our brothers and sisters around the world.

We need shoeboxes for Shoebox Christmas. The turn-in date for completed shoeboxes is November 1st so please bring them to the church office as soon as possible to allow time for filling. More information on this mission to come.

SEPTEMBER “ONE THING”
Our September “One Thing” is sports drinks for our Youth Group. Examples; Powerade, Gatorade and Body Armor, any flavors.
OCTOBER “ONE THING”
Our October “One Thing” will be stove top stuffing for the Mitchell Area Food Pantry Thanksgiving Baskets. Our goal is to provide them with 600 boxes of stuffing.
READING THROUGH PAUL’S LETTERS
If you are participating in our “Reading Through Paul’s Letters” project this year, and just a week or two ago we finished Paul’s letter to the Romans, at least according to the check list. However, you may have noticed that Romans 14, 15, and 16 were not included on the checklist card. That was a computer error. So, be sure to squeeze in reading Romans 14, 15, and 16 into your reading to truly cover reading all of Paul’s letters this year.
DOWNTOWN MOM’S SMALL GROUP
Hey Momma- you’re invited! Downtown Mom’s is a new small group created for moms who want a little time to breathe, connect, sip some coffee, and grow in faith together. We meet on Sundays at 9AM during Sunday School hour in the youth room, for honest conversation, friendship, coffee, and a biblical topic to help us navigate the beautiful, messy, exhausting, and joyful season of motherhood. Come as you are- the coffee’s hot, the welcome is warm, and there’s a place for you here!
SUNDAY SCHOOL CHALLENGE
Please send coins with your children to Sunday School on October 4th for our Classroom Noisy Buckets Coin Challenge. The class that brings the most coins will carry them up for Noisy Buckets on Sunday October 11th.
SPIRITUAL GIFTS SERMON SERIES
As a follower of Jesus, did you know that you have gifts…spiritual gifts? You do! Not only do we each have gifts, our gifts are needed for the greater Church and Body of Christ to be most effective. Last week Pastor Keith began a sermon series called “You’ve Got Gifts.” Over the next 5 weeks we’ll unpack what gifts are and why they are important. There will even be an opportunity for each of us to discover our spiritual gifts if you don’t know what they are. Come join us!!
LOVEFEAST AND UWF KITCHEN/DINING ROOM
REMODEL FUNDRAISER
Vintage silverware turned into unique pieces and RADA products will be for sale prior to and following worship on Sunday, Sept. 27. Carol Hasz will have a table set up in the Gathering Area. All proceeds will go towards the Kitchen/Dining Room Remodel Project.
KITCHEN/DINING ROOM REMODEL PROJECT
Work has begun on the Kitchen/Dining Room Remodel. This has been a project long in coming. The work to be done includes new cabinets, floor, ceiling, lighting, walls freshly painted and textured, and some new appliances. The total project is anticipated to be around $120,000. The Trustees have some funds on hand and are seeking donations to complete the project. If you’d like to donate, you can talk to Dawn Williams, a Trustee, Pastor Keith, or simply bring your gift to the church and make sure it is marked Kitchen Project. Thank you for your interest and help. We look forward to the completed project.
LOVE FEAST
During the kitchen/dining room remodel, Love Feast will be serving and hosting at The Masonic Hall, 112 E. 5th Ave, Mitchell. If you have any questions, please reach out to any of the Love Feast Task Force Members.
LITTLE FREE FOOD PANTRY
Our church Little Free Food Pantry continues to be a resource for individuals and families in our community. We stock it every day. We are currently accepting donations of non-perishable food items such as; mac & cheese cups, breakfast cereal cups, granola bars and individual wrapped crackers. Donations can be brought to the church office.
