The key goal of the Solar Oven Project is to assist people in living in energy-scarce areas of the world to utilize the free energy of the sun for cooking and other energy needs.

Our January “One Thing” is Adopt a Senior for the class of 2026 for the MSD Caring Closet. Donations will help purchase Caps/Gowns/ Tassels/ Year Books and a graduation gift. Our goal is to “adopt” 10 seniors for a total of $1550.

FEBRUARY “ONE THING”

Our February “One Thing” will be tuna for the Mitchell Food Pantry. The food pantry serves many families in need within our community.

THE VISION OF THE UMC

This Sunday we will begin a 3-part sermon series focusing on the new vision statement of the United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Church forms disciples of Jesus Christ who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, and Lead Courageously in local communities and worldwide connections.

ATTENTION MOMS!

A new ministry called “Common Grounds: Downtown Moms” has begun, we meet downstairs in the Youth Room. Moms are invited to gather for coffee, connection, and encouragement while kids are in Sunday School. No prep, no pressure- just a welcoming place to relax, breathe, and belong.

PASTOR KEITH AWAY

Pastor Keith and Nancy will be away and unreachable for a couple of weeks on vacation. While away Pastor Amber will be here and able to handle funerals, Communion, and such needs. Tonya, in the church office, also has a list of “On Call” pastors who can assist if there is a need. If you need Pastor Amber, or if there is a pastoral need, please call the church office at 605-996-7721.

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION

Tired of the cold weather? Set your sites on warmer days ahead by planning to attend church camp! Our United Methodist camps provide a great opportunity for people of all ages to experience Christ, Community and Creation! Registration is open. There are pamphlets located by Pastor Amber’s office door or you can check out the website https://www.dakotasumc.org/camping/camps-and-events. Please inquire about the 50% off discount code that we will offer again this year.

SHROVE TUESDAY

Our annual Shrove Tuesday pancake and sausage feed by Chris Cakes will be Tuesday, February 17th. We will be serving from 11am-1pm and 4pm-7pm. Sign-up sheets for volunteering and donating food items will be in the gathering area prior to and after worship service. There are plenty of opportunities still available. It truly takes a village for this event, so please consider helping.

GREETING:

CALL TO WORSHIP:

L: Jesus calls us to love- to love our God with all our heart, soul,

       and mind.

P: We come to worship the God who loves us first.

L: Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves; not selectively,

       not cautiously, but fully.

P: Teach us to love boldly O God.

L: Jesus gives us a new commandment: That we love one another

      as he has loved us.

P: By this love, may the world recognize us as his disciples.

L: When fear tempts us to silence or safety, the Spirit invites us to

       pray for courage.

P: Fill us with the Holy Spirit, that we may speak, live, and love

      with boldness.

L: Come, let us worship the God who calls us, forms us, and sends

      us out to love boldly.

All: Yes, we are here to worship our Bold Loving God!
