The Communications Team is launching a new campaign for 2024 to encourage growth with internal volunteerism, participation in FUMC committees, and attendance at in-person or virtual worship services. Please join the committee by inviting one person to attend worship service, to volunteer on a committee, or to help with an event.

MISSION OF THE MONTH

Abbott House

For over 80 years, Abbott House has devoted their work to providing transformative therapeutic support services for the betterment of youth across the state of South Dakota.

MARCH “ONE THING”

Our March “One Thing” is liquid laundry detergent for The Helping Hand Pantry. The Helping Hand Pantry helps those in need of hygiene items. The Pantry is housed in the UCC Church in Mitchell.

HOLY WEEK SERVICES

We have cards available at each entrance to the Worship Center with our Holy Week Services listed. Please feel free to take a couple and invite your family and friends to join us for one of our services during Easter.

EASTER LILIES

If you are interested in purchasing a lily, please fill out the Easter Lily card that is provided for you and turn it into the office. The cards are located at the entrances of our worship center. The cost is $18 each and the deadline to order is Sunday, March 24th.

EASTER ART PROJECT

The Family Ministry team is excited to introduce the Easter Art Project for 2024, “Our Wondering Hearts.” There is a table in the gathering area with the canvases and instructions. All ages are invited to participate! Please take one per family.

UMCORE SUNDAY-MARCH 10TH

Through the United Methodist Committee Relief (UMCOR), we are able to make a difference in the lives of communities and individuals whose lives have been upset by storms, wars, fires, displacement and climate change. This offering underwrites UMCOR’s “cost of doing business”, allowing 100% of any gift to a specific UMCOR project will go toward that project, not administrative costs. There will be designated envelopes at both entrances of our worship center for you to place your offering in.

HORNS AND HALOS LENTEN STUDY

Pastor Keith is leading a study during Lent looking at what are referred to as the seven deadly sins, but also looking at the corresponding seven life-giving virtues. The study is being called “Horns & Halos.”  There are workbooks available for $14 in the office if you are interested. The study is being held on Sundays at 7pm at the church.

BUTTER BRAID SALES

Butter Braids are for sale! This is a fundraiser for youth activities, camps, and mission trips. The deadline for ordering is Wednesday, March 13th. Contact any of our youth or Cindy to place an order.

HELP WANTED

Part time Lead technology person is needed! FUMC is looking for someone to oversee the technology responsibilities for Worship services, Livestream, Radio Broadcasts and working with volunteer staff. This person must be available for Sunday morning service and other services as needed. Knowledge of audio and video equipment is helpful, however, willing to train the right person. Wage depends on experience and/or skills. Apply in person at the church office.
