Heifer Project

Heifer International, also known as the Heifer Project, is a global nonprofit that works to eradicate poverty and hunger through sustainable community development.

MAY “ONE THING”

Our May “One Thing” is a cash offering that will support the 2026 Miracle Offering at the Dakotas Annual Conference. There are 2 projects that the money will be used to support.1) The endowment for theological education to help United Methodist in Africa, the Philippians, and Europe prepare for ministry. 2) Provide education and training for laity in the Dakotas Conference equipping disciples for leadership.

LITTLE FOOD PANTRY

Our church little food pantry continues to be a resource for individuals and families in our community. We are currently accepting donations of non-perishable food items such as tuna, pasta (Knorr), rice (Knorr), & breakfast items. Donations can be brought to the church office. Thank you for your kindness and support in this project and in serving others.

CELEBRATING OUR SENIORS

Sunday, May 17th we will honor and celebrate our graduating seniors! This is a special time to recognize who they are, all they have accomplished, and the ways they have been a meaningful part of our church family. We give thanks for each of them and send them forward with our love, prayers, and encouragement as they step into this next chapter. Feel free to place a card in their designated gift box located on the grad table in the Gathering Area. Cupcakes will be served in their honor.

YEEHAW!! VBS IS COMING!

Get ready for a rootin’-tootin’ good time at our Wild West Vacation Bible School! Join us June 12-13 at Camp Arroya on Lake Mitchell for a fun-filled adventure of faith, games, music, and more. Open to kids aged 4 through 5th grade. Then come back on June 14 as we celebrate together during worship, followed by a food truck and more fun for everyone! Mark your calendars and invite your friends! If you would like to volunteer for VBS, please let Amber know. It will be Friday evening, Saturday morning, and then Sunday they will sing during worship.

THRIVENT CHOICE DOLLARS ~ BRINGING GENEROSITY TO LIFE

Downtown Mitchell First United Methodist Church is now enrolled in Thrivent Choice. So, what does this mean? 1. Our church will appear in the Thrivent Choice online catalog. 2. Thrivent members can make an online personal donation through the Thrivent Choice catalog. Thrivent Choice reflects the heart of Thrivent- empowering clients with memberships to live generously and make an impact on the organizations and causes they care about most.

SERVING JOYFULLY

Stop by the Pop-Up table in the Gathering Area Sunday, May 17th, to share with Jan Larson what Joyful Service looks like in your life, in our church and in our community. Who is a person that lives out Joyful Service? Jan wants to record your brief witness to Serving Joyfully. She will also have a QR Code with instructions for recording and submitting your own message. These messages will be played throughout Annual Conference.

MITCHELL HIGH SCHOOL BACCALAUREATE

Baccalaureate for MHS Seniors will be Sunday, May 17 at 6PM at the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Pastor Keith has been invited to bring the message.
