VERSE FOR REFLECTION: Colossians 2:13-14

And when you were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive together with him, when he forgave us all our trespasses, erasing the record that stood against us with its legal demands. He set this aside, nailing it to the cross.

LENTEN STUDY

Beginning Wednesday, February 25 at 7:00pm in Room 103,

Wednesday night adult Bible study will follow the six-week Lenten Study offered by the Conference Office. No book is needed for this study-just good conversation. All are welcome!

For this year’s Conference Lenten study, the Dakota’s Cabinet is creating a six-week study based on the healing stories of Jesus-“To Be Made Well.” In a time in our world where hurt, fear, and trauma are a part of our daily lives, these stories are meant to draw us back to the Great Physician, the sources of healing, Jesus Christ.

3. Bent Over Woman presented by Rev. Deann Hardy

CROSS TALK- THE MEANING OF THE CROSS

This weekend Pastor Keith begins a new sermon series for the season of Lent. Throughout this series, we will focus on the cross- the central symbol of our faith and our understanding of Jesus.

Did you know the Bible contains numerous verses about the cross, and that Christians throughout history have explored many different ways of understanding its meaning and significance?

In this series, we’ll reflect on the power and wonder of the cross and discover what it means for our lives and our faith today.

Join us each Sunday during Lent or watch online anytime. This series will wrap up on Good Friday, the day in which the cross takes center stage in Jesus’ life.

PRELUDE:

GREETING:

CALL TO WORSHIP:

L: The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing

P: But to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

L: The wisdom of the world seeks strength, success, and

     self-preservation.

P: But Christ calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and

    follow him.

L: For what will it profit us to gain the whole world,

P: And forfeit our very souls?

L: In this season of Lent, we turn again toward the cross.

P: We come to listen, to learn, and to be transformed.

L: God has chosen what seems weak to reveal true strength.

P: God has chosen what seems foolish to reveal true wisdom.

L: Come, then, let us worship the One who calls us to follow.

P: We take up our cross with Christ, and worship the Savior

     of the world.
