VERSE FOR REFLECTION: Galatians 2:19b-20

For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

 MISSION OF THE MONTH

Heifer Project

Heifer International, also known as the Heifer Project International, is a global nonprofit that works to eradicate poverty and hunger through sustainable community development.

MAY “ONE THING”

May’s “One Thing” supports the Bishop’s Miracle Offering, a special offering focused on a special project our Bishop chooses each year for Annual Conference. This year’s miracle offering is for UMCOR and Midwest Missions. UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief) is the Red Cross of the United Methodist Church, giving assistance wherever disaster and tragedy strikes in our world. We will have boxes out for cash donations for UMCOR, but we will focus more on our church donating the Personal Dignity Kits that Midwest Mission collects and sends out in support of UMCOR’s work around the world. You can pick up a gallon Ziplock bag at the One Thing display. Included will be a list of the items that are needed to fill out the kit. Thank you!

THIS SUNDAY! NATIVE AMERICAN MINISTRIES SUNDAY

On this denominational Special Sunday, United Methodists are called to recognize and honor the gifts and contributions made by Native Americans to our society and church. Contributions to this special offering help develop and strengthen Native American ministries within each United Methodist annual conference and provide scholarships for Native Americans pursuing ordained or licensed ministry. There are special envelopes at entrances to the Worship Center.

SUNDAY SCHOOL AND YOUTH GROUP

Today is our last day of Sunday School for the year. Our last night for youth group will be Wednesday, May 7th. Thank you everyone for a great year! Enjoy your summer!

“We exist to be the hands and feet of Jesus, sharing love and grace to all we encounter, by living out God’s Kingdom together.”

The above statement was developed out of a set of three leadership forums that our church held over the course of the past year. The purpose of this statement is to help us reclaim our identity and sense of purpose for why God has placed us in this community. The Church Council has been discussing this statement and is interested in feedback from you, our church family. If you have thoughts or suggestions about this statement, please talk to one of the members of our Church Council.

CELEBRATING OUR 2025 GRADUATES

Please join us on May 11th as we celebrate and honor our high school graduates! We will have blank cards on a table in the Gathering Area for congregants to write a message of encouragement. There is a gift bag for each graduate with their name on it. Please place all cards in the appropriate bag. Thank you!!

VBS 2025

Are you ready to go on a food truck adventure with God? The Bible Food Truck VBS will take you for a ride through the entire Bible, learning stories from the Old and the New Testament, making stops in different books of the Bible to see how food plays a role in so many of our favorite faith stories! A free family devotional will be available for every child that attends! Climb in and buckle up! It’s time to find God on

The Bible Food Truck!

GOLF CART AVAILABLE?

Does anyone have a golf cart that you would allow to be used during Annual Conference? It would be used Thurs.-Sat. at DWU to transport people with mobility issues between buildings. Then Sunday would be used here at our church to help transport people who have to park at a distance from the church. If you would be willing to allow your cart to be used, please talk to Pastor Keith.

INTERESTED IN ANNUAL CONFERENCE?

Have you been interested in attending Annual Conference in the past but the distance involved kept you away? Here is your chance. Annual Conference is being held here in Mitchell June 6-8 at DWU. This means you would get to sleep in your own bed. Also, the church has funds budgeted to cover the registration fee. We do have an opening for a lay delegate to attend and represent our church at Annual Conference. If you want more information or are interested, please talk to Pastor Keith. You can also talk to Kristy Szabo, John & Linda Claggett, Jo Freier, Leana Stunes or Twyla Mah about what it is like to attend Annual Conference.
