MISSION OF THE MONTH

Haiti Clinic

APRIL “ONE THING”

Our April “One Thing” is $10 gift cards for CASA for an ice cream treat, for example: DQ, McDonalds, Culvers, Zesto.

MAY “ONE THING”

Our May “One Thing” will be Bishop’s Miracle Offering. Each year, churches and individuals in the Dakotas Annual Conference demonstrate their love for God and their neighbors through the Miracle Offering that is presented during worship at our Annual Conference Session. This year the Miracle Offering will be divided among these recipients: The 31:8 Project-human trafficking, Abbott House’s Bridges Therapeutic Foster Care, Recovery Ministry, and the Clergy Sustentation Fund. In addition to giving financially to the Miracle Offering, congregations are invited to collect supplies and backpacks for the Bravery Backpacks program through the 31:8 Project. More information on the backpacks to come.

+ONE

This is week two of Pastor Keith’s sermon series called “+One.” Join us for this entire series as we explore together what God can do when we invite “+ One” into our lives and our faith experience.  Everyone is welcome to bring a + One to worship!

CONFIRMATION SUNDAY

Confirmation Sunday will be Sunday, May 5th. There will be practice for the confirmands on Saturday, May 4th at 10am. Pastor Keith and Jennifer are asking that the youth are here with at least one parent for the practice. Please let Jennifer know if you have questions.

HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR RECOGNITION

High School Seniors will be recognized on Sunday, May 12th. Please submit your senior’s photo and information sheet that you should have received this week to tonya@downtownfirstumc.com. If you have not received a letter or if you have any questions, please let Tonya know.

100 DAYS OF PRAYER

United Methodists from across the Dakotas & Minnesota Conferences are being asked to join in 100 days of prayer beginning April 1. The idea for 100 Days of Prayer emerged out of a desire to cover the following United Methodist events with prayer: General Conference (April 23- May 3 in Charlotte, NC), The Dakotas Annual Conference (June 6-8 in Bismark, ND) and the North Central Jurisdiction Conference (July 10-13 in Sioux Falls, SD). The hope is that these prayers will act as an anchor for those United Methodists who are walking through General, Annual, and Jurisdictional Conference season with mixed emotions.
